An empire is a large territory where several groups of people are ruled by a single powerful leader or government.
Around 2300 B.C.E., the Akkadians conquered Ancient Sumer.
The Akkadians were lead by a king named Sargon.
Sargon would become the first ruler of the Akkadian Empire.
Sargon would make Agade the capital of the empire and would rule for 56 years.
The Akkadian Empire was the world's FIRST empire!
